NJHA and O’Toole Scrivo partnered with Hackensack Meridian Health
and Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis on an education webinar focused
on the federal and state response to patient privacy following the Supreme
Court’s decision in the Dobbs case.
With the ruling sending abortion law to the states, the
speakers addressed emerging privacy concerns, including the HIPAA privacy law,
who is applies to and when disclosure is required.
The panelists also shared relevant
healthcare-related scenarios of when patient written consent is required, when
it is not and how to comply when child abuse or elder abuse is suspected. The
webinar also covered the Information Blocking Rule and actions that violate the
rule. The webinar is approved by the Board of Continuing Legal Education
and the Supreme Court of New Jersey to provide 1.0 CLE continuing education credit.
