Welcome to the webinar: Changes to the SNF Minimum Data Set presented on June 13th; 2 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (eastern time).
This live webinar will be provided in partnership with LW Consulting and LeadingAge NJ & DE. CMS is changing the Minimum Data Set (MDS) from the MDS 3.0 (v)1.17.2 to the MDS 3.0 (v)1.18.11 effective October 1, 2023. In addition, the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) manual has also been updated to support the changes in the MDS. Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF) will be required to implement these changes and must prepare the team and processes for these significant changes. The changes in the MDS impact both financial and regulatory focus areas. If SNFs do not adequately prepare for the changes through training, systems, and monitoring, the impacts could be significant. With a few short months in front of us, how will you operationalize these changes into what you are currently doing and what systems or processes need to be changed to ensure MDS accuracy and to limit revenue loss. Join us in a presentation that will discuss the MDS changes, the RAI guidance, and review strategies to implement the changes.
Objectives for this presentation include:
- Summarize the MDS changes in Section A, D, GG, J, K, N, O and Q effective October 1, 2023.
- List the Resident Assessment Instrument (RAI) manual changes and guidance.
- Describe the impact of the MDS changes as it relates to regulatory and financial areas.
- Explain strategies to implement the changes effectively and ensure MDS accuracy and reimbursement gains.
