CODING VALIDATION: SEPSIS For HIM Professionals



PROGRAM SUMMARY AND OBJECTIVES
This program will guide coders and clinical documentation improvement teams through clinical indicators to understand when suspected sepsis truly meets the defined sepsis criteria.

Webinar participants will:

  • Know how to recognize Sepsis II and Sepsis III criteria
  • Learn the signs and symptoms of sepsis and determine if they are attributed to non-infectious conditions
  • Understand how to appropriately query for sepsis according to the indicators
  • Be prepared for payer denials and know how to submit a clinical validation appeal.
