Dr. Elizabeth Krans, continues our series with a webinar presenting her expertise on integrating the SUD AIM Patient Safety Bundle into your clinical practice.


These offerings are part of a series of educational opportunities for clinicians and care team leadership engaged in the priorities of the New Jersey Perinatal Quality Collaborative’s support of hospitals’ efforts to implement the AIM patient safety bundle focused on caring for pregnant and postpartum people with substance use disorder.

This important course is complimentary, thanks to funding support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention through the N.J. Perinatal Quality Collaborative. It provides credits in continuing medical education and continuing nursing education.

Learning Outcomes for this Session:
At the completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Review a template for implementing the AIM substance use bundle into clinical care settings;
  • Describe an approach to screening for substance use during pregnancy;
  • Review the medical management of opioid use disorder (OUD);
  • Describe unique treatment considerations in pregnant patients;
  • Identify the physiology of pain and opioid response in non-opioid naive patients;
  • Emphasize the importance of harm reduction interventions for patients with OUD.
