Description
This program will examine the recent changes to the NJ Involuntary Commitment Law. This law provides hospitals with a new process to request a continued hold of a patient in need of involuntary commitment when a bed at an appropriate psychiatric facility cannot be timely obtained. The program will also review the impact this new process has had on the overall involuntary commitment process, discuss the challenges hospitals have faced when utilizing this new process, and highlight solutions to complying with the new law.
